Albert K. Bartko III, M.D.
Carolina Pain Management
Dr. Bartko is originally from Ohio. He received his B.A. degree in Biology in 1984, and then received his M.D. degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. He served an internship in Internal Medicine at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Bartko moved to Greensboro after completing his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM & R) at Ohio State University in 1992. Before joining Carolina Neurosurgery, PA in 2006, he had a long tenure as associate medical director of the Moses Cone Rehabilitation Center and was in practice with a local orthopedic group.
Dr. Bartko’s practice focuses on non-operative spine care, pain management, and electrodiagnostic testing. He is highly trained in all types of spinal injections, including epidural injections, discography, and sympathetic blocks, and was the first physician in Greensboro to perform radiofrequency neurotomy. Dr. Bartko’s practice also incorporates musculoskeletal and sports medicine. He is a highly sought after lecturer, and is an oral board examiner for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
In his free time, Dr. Bartko enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He volunteers at various local charitable organizations. His favorite sports include golf and boating.
