David S. Jones, M.D.

Dr. Jones was born and raised in Raleigh, NC. He received an academic merit scholarship to attend NC State University and graduated summa cum laude with a degree in chemical engineering in 1991. He then attended the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University on full academic scholarship. Here he was awarded the Upjohn achievement award and was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honor medical society.

Dr. Jones completed a 6 year residency in neurological surgery at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Here he learned to manage a wide array of neurosurgical conditions. He also preformed research on subarachnoid hemorrhage, management of aneurysms, and spinal fusion.

After completion of his residency in 2001, Dr. Jones joined a large private practice in Concord/Charlotte, NC. He then joined Carolina Neurosurgery in Greensboro in August, 2004, and became certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery in 2006. His surgical interests include minimally invasive spinal surgery, complex spine surgery, spinal trauma, spinal tumors, microdiskectomy, brain tumor therapy, and peripheral nerve surgery.

Personal interests include weight training, boating, and spending time with his beautiful wife and two daughters.
